Do you want to join a team at the forefront of delivering a brand-new world leading centre for advancing eye health in London?If so we are looking for a Programme Manager to join the busy team responsible for Oriel, a joint venture between Moorfields Eye Hospital, the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Charity to create a new, purpose-build centre of excellence for eye care, research and education.Together the Oriel partners will relocate all services from Moorfields Eye Hospital on City Road and UCL IoO on Bath Street, to the new, integrated centre in St Pancras, Camden. Construction is well underway with all 10 levels of the centre built and it is due to open in 2027. Our vision for Oriel is to create an environment for innovation to flourish, inspiring improvements in people's sight. The centre will be flexible and modern, enabling us to bring together eye care, research, and education for the first time, while focusing on patients, and attracting and retaining the best ophthalmic scientists, educators and clinicians.To help make this a reality, we are looking for dynamic candidates to lead our Social Value programme, delivering projects on wayfinding, arts and heritage in and around the new centre.The post-holder will be employed by Moorfields as the partner host for the programme and report to the Joint Programme Directors.Main duties of the jobWithin the Oriel programme there are a number of workstreams which are set up to deliver the programme objectives. This post is responsible for the Social Value workstream which has two core projects:WayfindingThis focuses on creating an accessible, user-friendly navigation system at the Oriel site. It encompasses both internal building navigation and its connection to external routes, ensuring seamless movement for all users. The workstream will deliver physical, digital and human-supported wayfinding solutions that meet diverse accessibility needs, particularly for those with varying levels of sight loss. It includes developing pre-visit information, staff training programmes, and sustainable management systems to maintain effectiveness long-termArts and HeritageThis focusses on defining and developing a plan for how arts, heritage and 'science on show' will be used within the Oriel building to deliver its objectives, and how these are integrated into partner organisation objectives going forwards.There are a number of planning conditions as outlined in the Section 106 submission which relate to a public art plan for which this project is responsible.About usAt Moorfields, we provide more than just an excellent career and great colleagues to work with.
