About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to lead the orthopaedic service within a supportive and highly respected practice group in South Wales. You'll ideally have experience in procedures such as TPLO, CCWO, TTA, and fracture fixation. However, if you're ready to take the next step, training and support are available from an RCVS Advanced Practitioner.

While surgery is the main focus, we're also looking for a well-rounded clinician who enjoys general practice and can pitch in across the board. Your caseload will be split across four well-equipped, RCVS-accredited branches. You'll be supported by a robust nursing and admin team, and full night nurse cover is in place to care for inpatients.

About the Practice

This is a close-knit team that genuinely supports one another. Clinical autonomy is balanced with case discussion and collaboration, with dedicated admin time built into your day. There are separate spaces for downtime at each site, and regular wellbeing meetings ensure team voices are heard.

The practice is proud to be working towards the BVA Good Workplace Accreditation and has an outstanding culture of respect, flexibility, and professional growth. Whether you're seeking development in surgery, a better work-life balance, or supportive career re-entry, this practice is equipped to help you thrive.

Location, Location, Location

Set on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, the area combines breath taking nature with great food, community spirit, and easy access to Cardiff, Bristol (45 mins), and London (2.5 hrs). The main branch is in Abergavenny, voted the Best Place to Live in Wales by The Sunday Times.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking an experienced vet with a keen interest--or existing skillset--in orthopaedics. Whether you're looking to take on an advanced surgical role or ready to grow into it with support, we'd love to hear from you. You'll need to be a team player, a strong communicator, and someone who enjoys both the complex and the routine.
