Job Summary

The OT Assistant works closely with Occupational Therapists and the wider MDT to provide a high standard of service within Askham Rehab. The OT Assistant is responsible for carrying out duties as required by the Occupational Therapy team, and in line with the treatments plan defined for each patient. This will involve ensuring that OT provision is of consistently high quality and in line with procedures. The OT Assistant is accountable to the Clinical Lead.

Responsibilities

1. To ensure Residents are empowered to lead as full a life as possible and maintain the highest degree of independence 2. To assist assigned Residents as directed with established rehabilitative tasks to assist in their independence with regards to activities of daily living 3. To provide training which helps clients to develop, maintain or restore physical, psychosocial, cognitive and/or communication skills according to their plan 4. To assist Residents in dressing and toilet needs as required in preparation for and following rehabilitative treatment 5. To develop and deliver groups treatments alongside other members of the rehab team 6. To transports clients to and from rehabilitative treatment areas utilizing aids such as wheelchairs and stretchers as required To reports observations of clients' behaviour and progress to Therapist and MDT
