THE ROLE

OTA Operations are the team that enable the delivery of new features, functions and fixes to customer vehicles. We\'re currently updating over a million vehicles in the market with over 70 ECUs capable of being updated remotely, and over 6.1 million customer ECU updates performed to date. We are remotely collecting diagnostics data, with the vision of predicting future faults within a vehicle to pro-actively plan software updates to all ECUs. Improving the end customer experience, you will enjoy a fast paced and rewarding working environment. In this role you will support validating the deploy-ability of software, feature and diagnostic over the air capabilities that are pushed out to vehicles. You will be helping to ensure timely validation for upcoming content delivery within the OTA workshop and supporting with release sign off.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Performance of Quarterly OTA release validation activities completed to schedule.
  • Timely alignment with ECU owner on prerequisites for update planning.
  • Timely support to fleet teams for any OTA issues.
  • Capability to deliver to plan.
Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Performing OTA validation test cases on workshop test vehicles to support customer release sign off.
  • Work with ECU teams on defining update requirements: inter & intra ECU dependencies, update paths and undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.
  • Support ECU teams with information fed back from updates and connected diagnostics.
  • Work in partnership with cross-functional teams to achieve operational targets.
  • Promote detailed failure tracking and resolution of issues.
WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

In order to be considered for this position it is advantageous to hold a formal qualification such as Degree within Engineering, or relevant experience in Automotive software deployment (for example vehicle updates in a retail environment).

The successful candidate needs to have experience with data driven decision making; strong analytical skills along with the ability to manage and interpret statistical data and ability to understand and work with vehicle log data in all forms.

Essential
  • Experience with:
  • A wide range of vehicle software - e.g., Infotainment, Powertrain, Chassis, ADAS etc;
  • Vehicle software and issue resolution in a service/retail environment;
  • Automotive architecture; bus networks, communication protocols.
  • Natural problem-solver with structured approach to problem solving in a technical environment.
  • Ability to manage priorities, identify issues and solutions using own initiative, coupled with a desire to make a difference and achieve results.
  • Ability to work from Gaydon to perform validation activities on workshop vehicle fleet.
  • A full UK driving license.
Desirable
  • Understanding of software release processes.
  • Cross functional experience in multiple disciplines i.e. Automotive, IT, statistics.
  • Understanding of automotive systems, practices and procedures.
  • Experience of collaborative team environments.
  • A full clean UK driving licence held for 2+ years.
