OTM Technician
to join our Rail team in
Ashford
. This is your chance to work on our specialist fleet of diesel-powered trains, performing services, maintenance, and repairs in a
state-of-the-art heavy repair workshop
.

Dive into a variety of engineering tasks, encountering systems such as pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, PLC, electronic, mechanical, and diesel.
Collaborate with a
close-knit team
to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Working Hours:
A 35-hour rostered week, typically Monday to Friday, 0730-1500 (hours may vary).
Overtime opportunities available: Monday to Thursday, 1500-1700 at flat rate, and Saturday enhanced rate @ time + 40%, 0730-1500.

What you'll be doing
You will have the following accountabilities:
Service specialist diesel rail plant (GPC's, TRAMM's, Tampers)
Work on, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics, PLC.
Follow service schedule to rail standards
Carry out heavy repairs, ensuring quality is adhered to.
Carry out fault finding to 'right first time'
Be able to clearly communicate technical engineering information.
Work Safely
Undertake specific 'in house' machine training
Work effectively on own and as part of a close-knit team.
Huge variation day to day from heavy repair, servicing and technical tasks.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following qualities and experience:
Should have or equivalent to NVQ Level 2/3
Previous heavy engineering experience would be advantageous.
Background in the following: HGV, LGV, Agricultural machines, Cars, military.
Encountered all or some of the following systems: pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, PLC, mechanical systems, diesel engines.
Able to read engineering drawings and schematics.
Basic IT skills
Health and safety awareness
Must meet and maintain the appropriate medical standard for the position
