30 hours a week term time: Monday to Friday 7.15am - 9:15am and 2:00pm - 6:00pm. School Holiday Hours vary.

School's Out! Club are looking for an outgoing and fun individual to join the team! Qualifications and experience in a school aged childcare setting are preferred but not mandatory for this role. Due to the nature of this job, a full PVG check will be carried out and at least two references required before the successful applicant can begin.
Three months after starting employment, you will be required to register with the SSSC.
Job Purpose:
To provide a variety of wide range activities to meet the development needs of children in the 5 -14 age group. This will be done whilst employing a variety of care and play skills as per the play principles as well as adhering to any health and safety requirements. To motivate children and be an enthusiastic member of the team.
Main duties and activities
Undertake full care of the children at the provision at all times, including:
o Provision of snack for the children once food hygiene trained.
o Provide escorts to and from the club from school.
o Spend time developing relationships with the children, for example, finding out their individual interests.
o Assisting the children to make and implement decisions and suggestions.
o All staff should work in a non-discriminatory manner at all times.
o Develop a caring and interested manner towards children rather than a purely supervisory one.
o Play work staff are expected to develop and maintain good relationships with parents.
o Provide safe, creative and appropriate play activities and carry out preparation required for such activities. This will include outside play and staff must be enthusiastic around these needs.
o Assist with the day to day organising and preparing of activities, craft materials and equipment.
o Attend monthly meetings to discuss activity plans and general club issues.
o Complete accident/incident reports as necessary. In the event of such occurrences ensure that any medical attention required is provided.
o Maintain positive working relationships with club staff, management.
Training
o Staff are required to register with Scottish Social Services Council, within first 3 months of employment and must adhere to this.
o Undertake training as appropriate for personal development and SSSC requirements.
o Play work staff are also expected to achieve SVQ Level 3 in play work, within the time limit set out by the SSSC and attend any relevant in-house training events.
Health & Safety
o Staff are expected to be familiar with any health and safety requirements and will be shown where to find these upon induction.
o Safe working practices in relation to risk assessments must always be adhered to.
o Play workers are responsible for reporting any faults, hazards or broken equipment to management.
