Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Outdoor Education Administrator to join the team at Haberdashers' Elstree Schools - home to two leading independent schools, set on a beautiful 100-acre campus in Hertfordshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting a thriving and ambitious Outdoor Education programme, working across both Haberdashers' Boys' School and Haberdashers' Girls' School.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, experienced administrator, and natural organiser who thrives in a fast-paced and varied environment. You'll work closely with the Head of Outdoor Education and wider team to ensure that all logistics, records, communications and systems are handled efficiently - enabling the smooth running of expeditions, weekly activities, and key programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

This is a permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week, term time plus three additional weeks, including one week before the start of each academic year.

What You'll Be Doing:



Acting as the first point of contact for Outdoor Education enquiries Coordinating logistics for trips and expeditions, including booking transport and accommodation Supporting the administration of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, including management of eDofE across both schools Managing kit, equipment and Outdoor Education inventory Liaising with internal staff and external providers to ensure smooth planning of curricular and co-curricular activities Maintaining records of student participation and attendance Supporting financial processes, including placing orders, tracking invoices and monitoring budgets Managing the Outdoor Education inbox and ensuring timely communication with students, parents and colleagues (For the right candidate) Opportunity to support or lead sessions within the wider Outdoor Education programme

What We're Looking For:



Strong administrative experience, ideally within a school or educational setting Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and confidence in learning new systems (e.g. eDofE, SOCS) A team player who is proactive, flexible and enjoys making things run smoothly behind the scenes A genuine interest in outdoor education and the positive impact it can have on young people
