Outdoor Education TA in SEMH:
Prospero Teaching are currently seeking an enthusiastic and driven TA for an exciting outdoor education role in a very well run SEMH Secondary School in Preston.
This is an SEN role, and the students may present with ADHD, Autism, emotional regulation difficulties, and some will come from traumatic backgrounds.
You must have an understanding around SEN, and be willing to engage with and support challenging students to break down barriers.
No two days in this role will be the same, it will include onsite and offsite education, including fun and active trips out to engage the students.
Experience within a classroom is not mandatory, however you must have knowledge and awareness around SEN.
Patience is important, and some of these students may struggle with problem solving.
The ideal candidate will have a background involving outdoor education, sports coaching or physical activity based roles. This is an active role, and you will be expected to get involved with the young people.
Contract Details:

  • Role: Outdoor Education TA
  • Location: Preston
  • Hours: 0830:1530
  • Rate of pay: 95 - 105
  • Type of work: Temporary
  • Full time/part time: Full time only
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: Ongoing (Temp / Temp to Perm)
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
  • Up to date Safeguarding training in the last year (can be provided if needed)
  • Previous experience with Team Teach training, or willing to be trained in it
  • Previous experience working within outdoor education is desired
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide professional references covering 2 years

Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business in relation to this vacancy. The successful candidate will be required to register with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy. Ideally, you will already have a full DBS on the update service but if not, we can process a new one.
