Join Our Team as an Out-of-Hours SARC Crisis Worker (Bank)
Are you compassionate, empathetic, and ready to make a meaningful difference? We're seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Out-of-Hours SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centre) Crisis Workers. This role provides critical support to individuals who have experienced sexual assault or rape, offering care during a time of great vulnerability.
As a Crisis Worker, you will support patients attending the SARC for forensic medical assessments, acting as their advocate and ensuring they receive the care and resources they need before, during, and after their visit.

Located in Bournemouth, The Shores operates 24/7, 365 days a year, with a committed team of on-call Crisis Workers and Sexual Offence Examiners. Our mission is to deliver trauma-informed, high-quality care to those who need it most.
Your Role and Responsibilities:
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, your duties will include:
Providing a welcoming and supportive environment for all clients and visitors.
Arriving at the SARC within 60 minutes for call-outs.
Offering advocacy, emotional support, and guidance to clients.
Ensuring clients have the information they need to make informed decisions about medical care, forensic examinations, reporting to the police, and follow-up support.
Maintaining clear and secure records in line with SARC policies.
Supporting clients in various settings outside the SARC, such as hospitals, prisons, or care homes, when required.
Working Hours:
This is a flexible bank position.
The shift pattern is 12 hours, 7:00 - 7:00 based from home. We are mostly looking for someone for nights and weekend days.
Salary:
Whilst on call you will receive a retainer of 55.08 with the addition of 57.50 for a call out
Telephone work will be paid at 30 per call with clients
Any additional training and work will be paid at an hourly rate of 13.27
What We're Looking For:
Essential Skills and Experience:
Experience working with vulnerable individuals
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic computer proficiency
Agreement to be added to the staff elimination database
Experience supporting victims of sexual assault
A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle
The ability to pass an enhanced DBS check and NPPV Level 3 vetting
Desirable Skills and Experience:
NHS experience or familiarity with multi-agency working
Training or qualifications related to supporting victims of abuse
