JOB OVERVIEW

This post holder will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating outreach projects and recruitment activity in support of London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS) student recruitment and the LCDS Access and Participation Plan. Working closely with the Head of Widening Participation and Recruitment, this post holder will help shape and develop outreach activity and support relationship development with schools, colleges and organisations, whilst also developing systems and processes for keeping detailed records of activity.

SALARY




The full-time equivalent salary for this position is 31,214 per annum, equating to 15,607 per annum for this part-time role.


Salaries are reviewed in August each year when any cost-of-living increases are made. No salary changes are made until after successful completion of a probationary period.

CONTRACT TERMS




This is an open-ended permanent contract. This is a part-time position (equivalent to 20 hours per week). These hours are inclusive of a one-hour paid lunch break each day. Your hours of work will be agreed with the line manager.


Whilst in the six-month probationary period the notice period will be two weeks. Once this period is successfully completed the post holder will be confirmed in the post and the notice period will be six weeks.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA



KNOWLEDGE



Understanding of confidentiality requirements and the need for discretion and tact.

SKILLS



Highly-developed administration skills. Strong IT skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office 365, Virtual Learning Environments, space/timetabling systems and databases. Excellent communication skills for a broad range of stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS



Educated to degree-level, or equivalent further eduction training, or relevant professional experience.

ATTRIBUTES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS



Keen attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a small, busy team. Organised, motivated and ability to work to deadlines. Commitment to continuous professional development. Passionate about widening access and participation in dance and the arts.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA



KNOWLEDGE



Awareness of safeguarding and health and safety procedures for young people.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS



Experience in Arts administration or Eduction (preferably in a higher eduction context). Experience in devising tailor-made database systems and updating them as appropriate. Experience working with admissions workshop procedures.

ATTRIBUTES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS



Willingness to use own initiative. Connections in the dance industry to schools and youth groups.

OUTREACH AND RECRUITMENT COORDINATION



Coordinate one-off school visits and longer term projects, securing teaching staff, student ambassadors, musicians, space bookings. Coordinate visits to careers fairs and Open Days at LCDS, securing space, teaching staff, student ambassadors, musicians, and contributing to the schedule of the day as required. At times you may be required to facilitate onsite events. Secure regional workshop venues, dates and teaching staff. Contribute to the outreach strategy by making connections with feeder organisations. Support and coordinate wider activities, such as the APP (Access and Participation Plan) focus group, teacher events, mentorship programme, and other APP related projects. Work alongside the recruitment team to support promotion of activities. Work with colleagues to develop relationships and activity with the CAT (Centre for Advanced Training) department. Liaise with Summer School scholarship recipients and schools, organisations, and colleges, implementing necessary arrangements. Create contracts for visiting artists, student ambassadors, APP focus group members, and mentors.

ADMINISTRATION



Keep up to date records of all activity, developing processes and systems, including support with budgets. Support evaluation to ensure it is carried out effectively and efficiently. Support visits from partners, adhering to safeguarding and health and safety requirements, and liaise with HR in relation to student roles. Organise travel and per diems payments for outreach visits. Manage the inventory of LCDS merchandise. Carry out processes for curtain raiser events.

GENERAL DUTIES



Provide cover for School Office administrative staff as needed. Attend fairs and performances as required. Any other duties that may be reasonability requested by the Head of Widening Participation and Recruitment.
