Our BRIGHT Programme is designed to support students through key transitions, fostering resilience, emotional intelligence, and independence through personalised outreach support.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Outreach Mentor to join our BRIGHT Programme team. This role involves working both on-site and off-site, providing tailored support to students in various educational settings and community environments. The Outreach Mentor will help students navigate their educational and personal challenges, facilitating a supportive pathway towards successful transitions. You will be required to have business car insurance and will be expected to travel within this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-to-one and group mentoring sessions tailored to individual student needs, focusing on emotional regulation, social skills, and academic support.
Collaborate with school staff, parents, and other stakeholders to create and implement individual support plans for students.
Maintain regular communication with the programme coordinator and other team members to track student progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
Provide feedback and insights into the effectiveness of the BRIGHT Programme, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
Facilitate workshops and activities that promote skill development and resilience in line with the BRIGHT Programme's objectives.
Manage documentation and reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with program standards and student confidentiality.
Travel between various educational settings and community locations to deliver support and interventions.
Qualifications:
Experience in mentoring, youth work, or teaching, particularly with students who have special educational needs or behavioural challenges.
Experience of Safeguarding children and young people.
Strong understanding of the educational landscape and the challenges faced by students outside mainstream education.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, educators, and parents.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational and time-management skills.
A passion for educational equity and a commitment to the core values of inclusivity, empathy, and resilience.
Current DBS with barred list, registered on the Update Service.
Full Driving License
