Working the night shift part time, 32 hours per week. The shift pattern would be working 4 nights on, 4 nights off. Made up of 3 x1 0 hour shifts (8.5 working hours) with 2 x 45 minute breaks and 1 x 7 hour shift (6.5 working hours) with 30 minutes break. The working hours will be between the times of 22:15 and 07:45 in order to hand over efficiently to day time working staff, factoring in working time allocated. The shorter working day will be dictated by Rota needs each week by Accommodation Management
Salary:
27,040 full time equivalent per annum based on a 40 hour per week, 21,632 pro rata, per annum based on a 32 hours per week
Holiday entitlement
: Annual holiday entitlement is 25 days plus bank holidays full time equivalent, 20 days annually plus bank holidays for part time.
The Residence is open 24/7, 365 days per year, therefore accommodation staff are required to work during times when the school is closed including bank holidays, Christmas and New Year holidays according to a shared rota.

Role description
The role of Overnight Residential House Parent provides overnight supervision, guidance, and pastoral care to boarding students, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and a positive residential experience.
This role supports the educational and personal development of students outside of formal school hours, fostering a nurturing environment that promotes responsibility, independence, and respect.
Being level 3 trained in safeguarding, supporting all members of this team to ensure all statutory and regulatory safeguarding framework is met.
Duties and Responsibilities
Resident Care
Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents who may wake up or cannot sleep and need support. To include administering medications and supporting students with medical conditions
Being a first aider providing support in medical emergencies, after the initial assessment should further support be needed seeking help from the on call residential staff and emergency on call person
Responding to residential emergencies and disturbances including crisis management, dealing with the initial problem, identifying the next course of action
Holding the accommodation mobile over night on 3 out of 4 shifts when working the longer shift pattern.
To record all contact with students or any concerns following the standard procedures
Induct late arriving students, making them feel welcome covering all the standard content of a new student induction
Serve as a role model, promoting respect, responsibility, and positive behaviour.
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanour when interacting with students, staff, and visitors.
Supervision & Safety
To remain onsite during all shifts being the keyholder of this residential site
Monitor residents throughout the night to ensure their safety and wellbeing through patrols and the CCTV system
Being the Lead Fire Marshall on activation or identifying a fire following the fire evacuation procedures and ensuring the students safety is met
Conduct regular patrols inside and outside of the residence ensuring security and safety is maintained, logging all patrols following the standard procedures.
For any security concerns or breaches being proactive in identifying a solution, keeping the student residence safe and ensuring no guests are allowed onto site after 22:30
Enforcing house rules, interacting with the residents helping them to understand why these rules must be followed, reporting all breaches following standard procedure
Ensuring the residential site is safe of Health and Safety concerns, for any identified find a solution to ensure safety is maintained and log following the standard procedures
Household & Facility Responsibilities
Maintain a calm, quiet, and orderly living space during overnight hours.
Ensure all doors and windows are secured, lighting in communal areas are working
Assist with general residential duties
Communication & Documentation
Keep detailed shift notes and incident report documentation within the designated locations and communicating on handover with the day staff
Follow all Kings policies and local procedures in managing the care and safeguarding of students in a residential setting.
Other Duties
Assist and cover during periods of absence for the nightly curfew checks
Support transportation needs if emergencies occur during the night via booking taxis or sign posting the relevant bus routes.
Supporting a student with hospital admission and supervision during admission
Assist with instances of students that are late back for curfew and children missing in education
Assist with the issuing of fobs and keys and fixing errors on the fob platform

To undertake all appropriate training to fulfil the role of being level 3 trained in Safeguarding with wider CPD training to support this requirement
