Job Description

We at Pump Street Ltd are looking for a Packaging Assistant to join our close knit, award-winning, family run business in Suffolk.

As a Packaging Assistant you will have a real eye for detail and a desire to be part of a committed team making the very best quality single origin chocolate from the cocoa bean.

Reporting to the Packaging Coordinator on a daily basis, and line managed by the Chocolate Operations Manager, this role is hands on and essential to the completion of our full range of chocolate bars and specialty chocolate products.

The primary duties will include;

- Preparation and packaging of chocolate, chocolate packaging and chocolate products according to the production plan, ensuring that all aspects of production and packing of chocolate are to the highest quality.

- To assist in the maintenance and control of chocolate packaging stock, reporting shortages to the coordinator.

- To assist in the use of and maintenance of chocolate packaging equipment and machinery, reporting potential problems to the coordinator as necessary.

- To assist in any other functions related to the production, packaging or fulfilment of chocolate, as required depending on the needs of the business.

Other duties of the role;

- To keep a clean and ordered work environment and complete cleaning schedules as laid out in the PSC production plan and/or external audit scheme (HACCP/GMP - Supplier Assurance Food Manufacturing).

- Packing and labelling finished chocolate products.

- To follow health and safety guidelines, reporting any problems to the Operations Manager

- To maintain regular and punctual attendance and to keep a check on the timesheet of working hours completed.

- To pass on messages, delivery notes and invoices to the Operations Manager, Production or accounts team.

Working hours - Mon to Fri 8.00 to 16.00

Due to the location, own transport necessary.

Pay: 12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
