Conversion Department Manager

Swanline Group is a trusted trade-only packaging specialist, known for innovation and customer service. We are now looking for a commercially minded and proactive individual to lead our Sheeting Conversion Department. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering excellent service to our customers, managing supplier relationships, and keeping operations running smoothly.
This position would suit someone with a strong background in sales support, customer service or supply coordination, who also has the confidence to lead a small team and ensure performance standards are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a key point of contact for both customers and suppliers, providing a high standard of service and professionalism
Manage customer enquiries and resolve issues efficiently and supportively
Build strong supplier relationships to ensure timely and reliable material availability
Oversee the order processing function, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery note generation
Monitor and manage stock levels of raw material to support production needs
Ensure all materials are ordered efficiently, and stock is well controlled to avoid waste
Coordinate with the Production team to align material readiness with business requirements
Support invoicing accuracy and address any discrepancies in a timely manner
Lead, support and develop a small internal team, encouraging a culture of accountability and professionalism
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience in a customer-focused or supply chain role, ideally within a packaging / paper sales environment
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once
A confident communicator with a professional manner and practical problem-solving approach
Comfortable leading a team and setting clear expectations
Good working knowledge of stock control, procurement and internal sales processes
Adaptable and responsive to changing business demands
