The Sports Trust is a registered charity committed to creating inclusive and inspiring spaces for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy sport and physical activity. We operate three world class venues in Folkestone: F51, Three Hills Sports Park and Folkestone Sea Sports. Our mission is to inspire active lifestyles and provide outstanding experiences in sport, fitness, and recreation.

The Role

We're looking for 2 x qualified and confident Paddleboard & Kayak Instructors to join the team at Folkestone Sea Sports for the summer season. You'll lead or support paddle sessions for adults, families and children, helping guests feel confident, safe and welcome both on and off the water.

Shifts run at weekends and are shaped by weather and tidal conditions. You'll also help with setup and pack-down, briefings, and guest safety all while delivering an excellent on the water experience. Key Responsibilities

Deliver fun, safe and inclusive paddleboard and kayak sessions. Brief customers clearly on equipment use and safety protocols. Support setup, pack down and maintenance of equipment. Help with group bookings, family sessions, and 1-to-1 instruction. Monitor safety on the water and act quickly if issues arise. Complete activity logs and feedback forms. Keep all areas clean and equipment stored properly after use. Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance across the facility. Represent The Sports Trust's values through your attitude and approach.

What We're Looking For

You must be 18+ at time of appointment. Comfortable working on and around the water in all conditions. Clear communicator who can engage with all age groups. Confident demonstrating rescue techniques if required. Proactive, friendly, and team-focused. Available for regular weekend work through to the end of September.

Essential Qualifications

One or more of the following:

Paddle Sport Instructor Paddle Sport Leader National Beach Lifeguard Qualification (NBLQ) 16-hour Adventure Activities First Aid RYA Aquatic First Aid

Desirable (but not essential)

RYA Powerboat Level 2 DBS check and safeguarding knowledge Experience in an outdoor activity or coastal centre Familiarity with session logs or incident reporting First Aid refresher or experience

Working Hours/Pattern/Contract/Salary:

Saturday and Sunday during the hours of 10:00am-6:00pm. Zero Hour Contract with variable hours up to 16 hours available per position. Salary - National Minimum Wage based on age. 15 per hour for delivering private lessons. Immediate start until the end of September 2025.
