Job Description

An exciting opportunity now exists for current Band 6 & 7 nurses with relevant experience and interest to join our expanding Paediatric Haemoglobinopathy team at Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust.
We are looking for two suitable candidates to join us as Clinical Nurse Specialists working closely with an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, alongside Consultants and a varied team at both sites.
These posts would enable LGT to have a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist based on each site with the cross-site support of the ACP. However, the clinical nurse specialists would be expected to work closely with the teams on both sites and cross cover annual leave and sickness of the other CNS.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Nurse Specialist/Specialist Midwife will be an advanced and experienced practitioner within their speciality.
The role of Clinical Nurse Specialist/Specialist Midwife requires a high degree of personal professional autonomy and making clinical judgements. Taking sole and joint responsibility for the patient and procedure during diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures to ensure a successful patient based outcome within the acute/community setting, which will require assessment, planning and implementation of treatment.
To be responsible for a caseload of patients based either on the Queen Elizabeth Site or University Hospital Lewisham site.
