An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic , motivated and dynamic Qualified Speech and Language Therapist or Teacher of the Deaf to join our regional Cochlear Implant Service which is based at the purpose built Listening for Life Centre.
The role will encompass working as part of the MDT in the assessment and management of children being assessed and post Cochlea Implantation.
The post holder will be responsible for providing assessment of communication and linguistic skills of babies and children with severe/profound hearing loss both pre and post cochlear implantation. The post will also involve therapy intervention for these patients.
The post would be suitable for someone with at least 2 years post qualification clinical experience
Support and training will be provided in order to gain experience and knowledge in the areas of childhood hearing impairment and cochlea implants.
The post holder will participate in the YAIS CI multi-disciplinary team.
The post holder will be responsible for providing assessment of communication and linguistic skills of babies and children with severe/profound hearing loss both pre and post cochlear implantation. The post will also involve therapy intervention for these patients. It is a specialist role working within national and locally established policies, quality standards and codes of practice, both independently and as part of a team.
