Working Hours & Shift Pattern
Full-time or part-time hours available
Typically Monday to Friday, daytime hours
No evenings, nights, or weekend shifts required
Some flexibility depending on school visits and caseload needs
Travel time between local sites included as part of working pattern
This rewarding role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality speech and language therapy for children and young people across educational and community settings in the Epping, Essex area. You'll work with children with a range of SEND needs, supporting their communication development through assessments, interventions, and collaborative practice with families and school staff. This position is ideal for a caring, confident therapist passionate about making a meaningful difference, with strong autonomy, flexibility, and excellent support from a well-established multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive speech and language assessments and tailored interventions for children and young people
Work collaboratively with families, carers, teachers, and other professionals to support communication goals
Provide training and guidance to educational staff on communication-supportive strategies
Develop individualised therapy plans based on evidence-based practice
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation
Manage a varied caseload across local schools and community settings
Monitor progress and adapt therapy plans according to developmental needs
Attend relevant meetings, reviews, and multidisciplinary discussions
Promote best practice and uphold safeguarding standards
Travel between sites as part of daily caseload responsibilities
Requirements
HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist
Degree or equivalent qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
Experience working with children or young people, ideally within SEND settings
Strong understanding of developmental and communication disorders
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Well-organised with strong caseload management skills
Full driving licence and access to a car for school visits
Commitment to CPD and evidence-based practice
