Salary:
From 35 per hour (negotiable for the right candidate)
Hours:
Minimum 12 hours per week (Face-to-Face and administrative), with potential to increase up to 16 hours
Travel:
Travel time and mileage reimbursed

Schools and clients' homes across Brent and Harrow; administrative work can be completed remotely
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate
Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist
to join our community-based service. The successful candidate will work with children across Brent and Harrow, providing specialist support within school environments and occasionally in the child's home. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact on children's communication skills and overall development through tailored, evidence-based interventions.
Duties
Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's speech, language, and communication abilities.
Develop personalised therapy plans based on individual needs and clinical findings.
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based speech and language therapy interventions during face-to-face sessions in schools and, where indicated, at home.
Monitor and evaluate progress, adapting therapy programmes as needed.
Liaise effectively with parents, teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure consistent, holistic support.
Provide families and school staff with guidance and strategies to aid ongoing communication development.
Maintain accurate and detailed documentation, including assessment reports, therapy plans, and progress notes.
Stay informed about best practices and emerging developments in paediatric speech and language therapy.
Experience & Requirements
Experience working with children with speech, language, and communication needs in clinical, school, or community settings is preferred.
Strong understanding of developmental speech and language disorders, communication needs, and relevant paediatric considerations.
Good knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and neurological functions related to speech and communication.
Confidence in using medical and educational terminology relevant to speech and language therapy.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload across different settings.
Registration or eligibility for registration with the
Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
and
HCPC
is desirable.
Must be able to travel across Brent and Harrow for face-to-face sessions (mileage and travel time covered).
