As an intern, you will experience and contribute to all aspects of our artisan family food business.
We are a very seasonal business producing 30% of our turnover in December. The busy months in the run-up to Christmas demand long hours and stamina as well as a good sense of humour.
You will be involved in sales, stock and order fulfilment as well as production and quality control of products & parcels. You will become confident in the use of an online sales, inventory & order fulfilment platform and related admin.
Responsibilities & duties may include:
Sales and customer service experience in our smokery shop and office; face-to-face and over the phone; trade and retail.
Some selling at events which may involve staying away overnight and flexible working hours
Warehouse, stock management & order fulfilment: packing & dispatch, restocking, ordering and supplier liaison. Ensure stock rotation & full traceability is sustained on all products.
Use of Online sales & fulfilment platform to manage stock & daily mail order activities; Goods in and Goods out stock administration; consignment management from dispatch to delivery.
Digital marketing & web content management; social media, marketing data management; sales analysis & data management
Safe food handling for sampling and tasting
Maintain and develop good practice in accordance with our health & safety policies and procedures, providing a healthy and safe environment for staff and visitors.
Teamwork - extra temp staff students taken on for the busy run-up to Christmas
Skills required:
University Honours Degree or equivalent
Driving Licence essential
Computer literacy essential
