About the Role

On behalf of our client, a leading organisation in the aviation industry, we are currently recruiting for a Paint Hangar Manager to support the activities of the paint shop operations. Key Responsibilities


Liaise with the Head of Maintenance and Operations to ensure they are aware of any issues regarding compliance with Part 145 regulations, company procedures. Liaise with the Head of Maintenance and Operations to ensure they are aware of any issues regarding the quality of product or late delivery of aircraft. Manage the paint shop facility and staff to ensure a high-quality finish on completion of paint shop inputs. Manage the paint shop facility and staff to ensure compliance with painting operation health and safety requirements. Ensure approved maintenance data is clear, unambiguous and available to paint shop staff prior to any paint process proceeding assisting the Planning Departments as required. Identify manpower requirements for the paint shop operation to ensure resources sufficient to complete tasks in line with customer workorder and agreed timescales. Manage paint shop facility staff to ensure high levels of professionalism and behaviour at all times. Manage and assess paint shop staff to ensure terms of engagement and levels of competence are maintained at all times. Identify any additional staff training required to maintain staff competence levels; utilising ELMS as required. Identify paint supply requirements to ensure purchase and availability of materials in time for paint facility aircraft inputs. Ensure paint shop facility is maintained with regard to cleanliness and housekeeping daily to ensure a high-quality environment for painting operations. Liaise with relevant facility maintenance personnel and outside contractors to ensure paint shop facility and equipment is maintained as required to ensure they remain serviceable and safe for paint shop operation Carry out work as directed by their Manager, to meet the requirements of internal company and customer established procedures IAW with Regulatory Requirements, to support departmental objectives. Engage with customers as required and provide regular internal progress reports. Attend aircraft Pre-input, daily stand-ups, Progress reports and post input review meetings. Determination of input downtimes in conjunction with Operations and Sales Departments. Supporting the Sales department and technical estimators as required. Ensure Paint inputs are achieved within the assigned man hours agreed. Promote continuous improvement, a just culture and integration of SMS. Support any other reasonable requests needed to support the Business.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:


Experience in using aircraft technical and internal documentation i.e. MOE/AMM/SRM/NTM/Repair Schemes/Part 21J modifications etc. Strong understanding of Part 145 regulation, including but not limited to UKCAA, EASA, FAA etc. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point and word to enable the production of project plans, databases and reports. Strong Commercial acumen. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, across different levels of the Business. Pro-active approach demonstrating commercial, engineering and compliance awareness.

Desirable:


Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work individually and as a team to achieve Business goals and objectives. Awareness of SMS. At least 3-years Part 145 background.
