Job Description

REPORTING TO: Paintshop Supervisor



SALARY: Based On Experience



JOB PURPOSE: The post holder will be trained to perform tasks in any area of the paint shop as required - including, but not limited to prep and touch up. On occasion when help is required the post holder will be asked to help with painting and shot blasting. You will ensure that high quality standards are maintained through to the finished product stage and complete any General House duties required. You will report directly to the Paintshop Supervisor.



Key Responsibilities:



Service Delivery



1. Ensuring a high standard of workmanship to minimise defects and rework;

2. Meet set targets while working in a high-volume production paint shop;

3. Touch up any defects using rollers and brushes and other methods including cleaning and polishing. Prepare completed machines to a high standard for dispatch.

4. Sanding and preparation of parts including masking and sealing, for paint operations

5. On Occasion paint spraying of paint using air assisted airless paint spraying equipment

6. On Occasion spray paint using conventional spray guns

7. Sanding and preparation of parts including masking and sealing, for paint operations

8. On Occasion shot blasting large steel structures and various components

9. Report defects and possible issues to be rectified before blasting, prepping and painting

10. Working with heavy manufactured machine parts;

11. Ensure proper handling, cleaning and storage of painting equipment;

12. Ensure proper handling of equipment to minimise damage through all processes

13. Leave working areas in a fit state to ensure no unnecessary health and safety risks prevail. Work in a manner that ensures the safety of oneself and other colleagues;

14. Report defects and possible issues to be rectified before blasting;

15. Working with heavy manufactured machine parts;

16. Conduct housekeeping activities within the paintshop;

17. Touch up any defects using rollers and brushes and other methods including cleaning and polishing. Prepare completed machines to a high standard for dispatch.

18. Complete training for all roles within the Paintshop were applicable

19. Report directly to the paint shop supervisor;

20. Assist the entire paint shop team by completing any other reasonable tasks as instructed by the supervisor;

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: No less than 40.75 per week
