Painter/Sprayer

The X-Cel Group, consisting of X-Cel Superturn and Vector X-Cel - are manufacturers of high specification component parts and assemblies, with HQ based in the national hub of engineering expertise - the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) S60 5FS, and at Bessemer Way, S60 1FB.

The successful applicant will initially be based at our Vector X-Cel site at S60 1FB - close to M1 junction 34 but must have the flexibility to work at either of our sites.

This is a permanent, full time role for an experienced

Painter/Sprayer

, who is required to effectively finish our machined components to the required highest quality standards. Previous experience is absolutely essential, please only apply if you meet this required criteria.

Please note this will be a Dual Shift contract, working 1 week of Days (Mon-Thurs 07:00-16:00, Fri 07:00-12:00) followed by 1 week of PM (16:00-02:30 Mon-Thurs) recurring

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

The industrial spray coating of machined components (using HVLP equipment and Xylan/Molykote paint)

Application of protective thermosetting PTFE resin and other coatings to specific thickness and adhesion properties as defined by customer and national standards (experience of this is critical)

Surface preparation of products to be coated using mechanical blasting and chemical processes

Handling high value parts in a safe and careful manner (weighing up to 350kg) with the use of overhead lifting equipment

Commitment to consistently producing a quality product including inspecting and recording accurate and auditable information.

Adhere to strict Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and legislation.

Our successful candidate

must

have:

- Previous experience as an HVLP sprayer (this is absolutely essential)

- Previous Blasting experience

- NVQ Level 1 or 2 in Finishing

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Excellent timekeeping skills with the ability to manage your own workload

- Strong work ethic

- Enthusiasm, with the desire to learn

- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Hours & Remuneration:

This will be a Dual shift contract working 1 week of Day shift (Mon-Thurs 07:00-16:00, Fri 07:00-12:00), followed by 1 week of PM shift (Mon-Thurs 16:00-02:30) recurring.

14.34 per hour Day shift. 21.51 per hour, PM shift.

Paid weekly

32 days holiday per year including Statutory Holidays
