We are seeking a skilled and reliable individual to deliver high-quality painting and decorating services across the College, alongside general maintenance tasks that support the smooth and efficient operation of our campus.





This role offers flexible working hours, with the expectation of occasional evening and weekend shifts to accommodate building access outside of standard curriculum delivery times. On average, candidates should be available to work one evening per week and one weekend day every three weeks.





The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and taking initiative to ensure tasks are completed to a high standard.





What You'll Be Doing




As a Painter and Decorator you will:


The post holder will carry out all aspects of painting and decorating internally and externally including the safe use of ladders, scaffolding and hydraulic access equipment for working at height. All maintenance staff are expected to assist in other maintenance activities outside of their main area of expertise to ensure the premises are fit for purpose. Some tasks will require activity loosely described as porterage when required. All maintenance staff are expected to carry out method and risk assessments to ensure safe working in accordance with health & safety legislation. Identifying, preparing and decorating internal and external elements of the building and grounds, which may include the use of paint, papers and other decorative finishes. Identifying maintenance, repairs and new jobs and assisting in the planning of work. Assisting in making contact with materials suppliers and if required contacting and liaising with contractors and ordering materials and supplies.

What We're Looking For




We seek candidates who:


Recognised apprenticeship or relevant trade qualifications. NVQ2 in Decorative Finishing and Industrial painting Operations. Level 2 Technical Certificate in Painting & Decorating.
