Painter and Decorator

Due to consistent, increased growth Abbey Services Scotland Limited are currently looking for an ambitious Painter and Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and will need a high standard decorating skills and experience.

Our painters and decorators are responsible for site preparation, colour matching, surface preparation and applying paint and other finishes to walls, ceilings, furniture and other surfaces.

Other duties include

Preparation of surrounding areas including fixtures and fittings to prevent messes

Measuring the work area to calculate the time and materials required to complete the project.

Preparing surfaces including filling holes and cracks and wall washing

Mixing and matching colours to meet the texture and look required for the project

Applying paint, varnish and other finishes, hanging wallpaper and other decorative process.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Painter & Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail and a passion for transforming spaces through colour and design. This role involves working on various projects, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet client expectations. The successful applicant will be able to communicate effectively and work both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or cracks. Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. Select appropriate materials and colours based on project specifications. Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, adhering to safety regulations. Maintain tools and equipment in good working order. Communicate with clients to understand their needs and preferences. Drive to various job sites as required.

Experience

Proven experience in painting and decorating is preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in English with clients and team members. A valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between sites. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship. Experience with different painting techniques and materials is desirable.

Pay: 15.00-16.00 per hour
