We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Panel Wireman
to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly and wiring of control panels, ensuring all components are installed accurately and in compliance with established quality and safety standards. This role demands a solid understanding of electrical systems, mechanical aptitude, and proficiency with a variety of tools and technologies.
The majority of this work would be for the national grid so if you have any experience with this that would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
Wiring of assemblies in accordance with Schematic Drawings and Wiring Diagrams for Electricity Transmission.
Fit all components in accordance with BOM, Equipment List, General Arrangement, Schematic Diagrams and Wiring Diagrams
Prepare, crimp, terminate and loom wires and cables in accordance with General Arrangement, Schematic Diagrams and Wiring Diagrams
Complete all wiring to Customer Specification
Accurately record time bookings per task
Complete the wiring tasks to the quality standard required in a timely manner
Perform continuity and insulation resistance tests; check for correct voltages and component operation before final sign-off
Route, strip, crimp, and terminate cables neatly using proper cable trays and ducting methods.
Ensure all work meets safety standards
Label wires and components, update wiring changes, and maintain build records for quality assurance.
Requirements:
Apprenticeship in Panel Wiring or relevant experience in a similar role
Ability to read, understand and interpret electrical engineering drawings
Ability to prepare, crimp, terminate and loom wiring assemblies
Ability to identify and communicate drawing discrepancies to supervision
Ability to follow test documentation
Ability to follow basic testing and fault finding procedures
Demonstrable ability to meet demanding deadlines
Cables used Tri Rated 0.5mm to 6mm
Hours of Work: 37 Hours Per Week
Monday to Thursday 8am - 4:30pm
Friday 8am - 1pm
If successful, whilst in training the rate of pay would be 18 per hour whilst you complete the first 10 weeks. Once training has been completed they would then look at offering contracts with an hourly rate of 20.60.
