are seeking an experiencedPanel Wirer
to join our client's engineering team atHeathrow Airport
, working within acargo handling environment
. This is along-term opportunity,
consisting of a broad scope of duties and focusing on upgrading legacySiemens Simatic S5 PLC systems
to the newerS7 platform
.NOTE - RATE. We will be willing to consider higher pay rates based on previous experience and specific knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Panel wiring and assembly
for control panels used in automated cargo systems. Support theremoval and replacement of legacy Siemens S5 PLCs
withS7 PLCs
, including wiring modifications and panel reconfiguration. Interpret and work fromelectrical schematics
, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings. Install, terminate, and testfield wiring
, I/O modules, sensors, and actuators. Collaborate closely with control engineers and project teams to ensure system functionality and minimal downtime. Conductsite surveys
, cable routing, and installation in operational airport environments. Follow allHeathrow Airport safety regulations
andpermit-to-work
procedures. Participate insystem commissioning
andtroubleshooting
of PLC-controlled systems.Requirements:
Proven experience as a
panel wirer or electrical technician
in an industrial or automation environment. Familiarity withSiemens PLCs
, especiallySimatic S5 and S7
platforms. Ability to read and interpretelectrical schematics and panel layouts
. Experience working inairports, logistics, or cargo handling environments
is beneficial but not essential ECS/CSCS card or equivalent electrical competency card. Awareness ofsafe electrical working practices
in a high-security and safety-critical environment.Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 36 months
Pay: 240.00-260.00 per day
