Panel Wirer

to become an integral part of our dynamic team in Swindon.

Who We Are and What We Do

We create, licence, manufacture, sell and provide services for technologies which:

Control and monitor high voltages and power (11 kV to 400 kV and up to 1000 MVA); and Are fitted in electricity substations, on overhead power lines, and in control centres.
We call this Total Voltage Control.

The position is based at our Swindon workshop. Normal working hours for this role are 37.5 hours per week. Paid overtime may be required to meet the needs of the business; however, overtime is not guaranteed.

Duties include



Building bespoke panels, gear plates and any other products on your own or as part of a team, working to instructions and/or electrical schematic drawings Undertake testing and inspection of a variety of panels Mark up of any corrections to the drawings to reflect the 'as built' status of each panel Delivery of panels/products to site as needed Operating the laser engraving machine to produce labels Goods in duties as required & stock check responsibilities Work within the company's management system (quality, safety and environment). Flexible to support business needs as required in both time and activity Completing documentation accurately and promptly Support and mentor junior team members as needed Following relevant training ensure that any H&S checks on equipment and tooling are performed.

Skills & Experience



Preferably completed a recognised apprenticeship in a related area, or equivalent experience Practical hands-on experience in a similar role Demonstrable interest in or experience of mechanical and electrical engineering (Preferred but not essential) Hold a valid driving licence and willing to drive a Company vehicle Understanding of industry Health and Safety requirements Computer literate and have knowledge of data input for the purposes of time booking and stock updates Accuracy and attention to detail is extremely important Ability to learn quickly and master new skills Work as part of a small team, on own initiative or follow instructions Since we are a small team/company you can expect to get involved in a wide range of activities and you must demonstrate a 'Yes we can' attitude.
