The St Giles Pantry in Kensal Resource Centre provides a positive way of supporting those on low incomes across the City; be it to help tackle food poverty, poor diet, overcome health inequalities and linking in clients to other support services. We will achieve this by supporting families on low-incomes, through a membership scheme to purchase surplus food at heavily subsidised prices. About the role As the Pantry Co-Ordinator you will supervise and work in conjunction with volunteer Peer Advisors to provide support to families for up to 6 months, who are based in and around Kensington & Chelsea. You will be responsible for the project achieving its overall purpose and key goals which will include but not limited to: leading and representing St Giles on steering groups, managing the day to day running of the pantry, carrying out daily and weekly stock checks and re-ordering, building and managing a team of volunteers and assisting customers to choose their shopping items.   • Have some experience of managing / supervising staff
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Empathy and ability to work with a diverse range of people in an inclusive and proactive way
  • Ability to lead, motivate, train and support volunteers
  • Have previous experience of working within a retail and customer-facing role
  • Have a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to work towards this
  • You must have Knowledge of and commitment to safeguarding practices and policies, and an ability to promote safeguarding among vulnerable clients and colleagues
