MJV Solicitors is a firm of solicitors providing a wide range of legal services, but specialising in civil litigation. Open since 2016, we are recruiting Paralegals to join our growing Housing Disrepair Team.

Please note that this is an in person role and the successful candidate will work full-time in our new office in Blackpool.

The role is an entry level one that will provide great experience for anyone wanting a career in law. There are excellent opportunities for progression in the firm. This opportunity arises as the team member currently doing the role is moving up.

Candidates must have a law degree or equivalent GDL.

Duties:

Making outbound calls

Taking inbound calls

Answering questions and addressing concerns

Liaising with potential clients, discussing their complaints, eliciting information regarding the issues they have had and the dates and methods upon which they have raised their concerns

Assessing the evidence and determining prospects of success

Maintaining accurate and detailed records of client interactions

Setting up new claims using the case management system

Liaising with and updating third parties

Skills:

- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in using computer systems and software
- Strong problem-solving skills

Working in a fast-paced environment, you should be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Proficiency in using computer systems and software is necessary for recording client information and accessing relevant data.

The successful candidate will learn to:

Consider instructions Prepare and draft documents Review and report on evidence Interview clients to obtain key information Work on a case management system Improve their telephone skills Diary and time management
