Role overview

Introduction to the team:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal to join our construction and engineering team in Leeds.

The team has been growing year-on-year and is one of largest construction and engineering teams in the North. Now 28 strong, the team is a leading force in the property and construction sector, dealing exclusively with construction and engineering law matters, construction and engineering sector clients and clients procuring construction and engineering services.

Leaders in their field, our dedicated team of construction and engineering lawyers have particular expertise in the transport, infrastructure, industrial, developer led residential schemes, oil and gas, healthcare, energy and renewable sectors.

The team are recognised experts for contentious and non-contentious work with an international client base which includes developers, funders, consultants, UK and European based contractors and sub-contractors. Such a depth of expertise means a unique spread of work covering multiple jurisdictions for both project and dispute work (including international arbitrations).

Key responsibilities:



Assisting in the preparation of contracts, appointments, warranties and related documents Working on adjudication submissions and supporting evidence Proof reading and drafting documents Drafting routine correspondence Legal research Client liaison Creating electronic bundles Generally assisting associates, senior associates and partners with their work load

What are we looking for:

Enthusiasm and willingness to learn Strong communication/interpersonal skills Good organisational skills Ability to work within a team and independently. Ability to prioritise and plan work appropriately so that deadlines are met Good attention to detail

Knowledge/experience of the construction industry and contract law.
