Client service is everything in this role. We are looking for individuals who have a natural ability to be compassionate for others and willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of the injured person, whilst helping their family and carers.
Previous experience working as a paralegal in either Court of Protection/ Personal Injury or Clinical Negligence would be advantageous. However, if you're a recent law graduate who is looking to gain hands on experience in this area of law we would welcome your application too!
Responsibilities include:
Dealing with everyone involved in the day to day management of deputyships including those who lack capacity, their families and carers and those dealing with their financial affairs from investment managers to the deputies and the Court of Protection
Dealing with day to day administration of deputyships, especially payment of bills
Email management (taking action where appropriate and ensuring that the other legal advisers are updated with any action taken)
Ensuring other advisers comply with Best Practice, Risk and Compliance and Money Laundering requirements
Dealing with file opening/closing and archiving
Assisting with monthly financial statements
Ensuring the files comply with Professional Deputyship Standards
Assisting with personal injury trusts and lasting powers of attorney that the Court of Protection team is dealing with

The team works with deputies who manage the financial affairs of people who lack capacity to do so themselves. Most of those individuals have suffered severe brain injuries following an accident.
