To support a Lead Lawyer within the Inquiry Team, this role is vital in ensuring the smooth and timely management of cases by undertaking legal research, drafting key documents, maintaining excellent client relationships, and supporting the Lead Lawyer through all stages of inquiry related work. The position requires a proactive, detail oriented individual capable of managing competing priorities, engaging confidently with clients and stakeholders, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and quality assurance standards.

Main Responsibilities
:
Ensure that cases are progressed in a timely manner
Assist a Lead lawyer to deal with all aspects of the cases to conclusion
Drafting court documents including pleadings, applications, witness statements and court directions
To research points of law and to take responsibility for researching topics prior to undertaking allocated tasks to ensure accuracy
Liaise with clients, barristers, inquiry solicitors and public bodies a willingness to travel to accommodate attendance in person when appropriate
Attend Inquiry hearings and Conferences with or without Counsel when necessary and in person when appropriate. Overnight stay may be required in some cases.
Accurate time recording
Maintain cases in good order in accordance with Lexcel and other quality assurance requirements
Ensure that all outstanding actions as per the task list are completed in a timely fashion
Ensure that an excellent level of client care is maintained
Essential Skills and Attributes:
Good researching and drafting skills
Sound base knowledge of the law surrounding serious injury and court procedure
Good attention to detail, with file management and organisational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to adapt to the needs of a diverse environment and able to quickly analyse complex information in order to make reasoned decisions.
IT competent
Excellent time management and organisation skills
Preferably previous experience of working in a personal injury department
Must be flexible in working hours and able to travel
Excellent communication and client care skills
Previous legal work experience in the PI field
Willingness to work with other teams across the business
Willingness to engage in networking and marketing events
Buddying new members of the team to help with development
Desirable Skills and Experience:
A law degree or a Graduate Diploma in Law, or a desire to gain legal qualifications via CILEX, paralegal apprenticeship or the SQE routes
Previous legal work experience in the PI field
Driving licence
