We are an established law firm with offices based in Central and East London, recruiting for the full-time training position of a Family Law Paralegal.
We are currently seeking a hardworking candidate to assist our Head of Family Law at our East London branch. The candidate will work closely and exclusively with our Head of Department, having the opportunity to learn about family law in practice. Our ideal candidate will have completed the LPC and studied the family law elective.
Our family department predominantly deals with divorce and children matters. The candidate will observe emotionally charged clients and be-able to assist with cases hands-on. The candidate may have the opportunity to attend court and observe hearings occasionally if desired.
The family department is very busy, and we enjoy a friendly office environment. This will be an exciting and fulfilling role for the successful candidate.
Trainee solicitor positions are possible for the right candidates who demonstrate their hard work, progress well and show commitment to the firm.
Main duties
Report to the Head of Department
Liaising with clients and taking notes
Observing client meetings
Assisting with casework in the area of family law
Reviewing correspondence and preparing letters
Identifying key dates in court documents
Assisting with administrative duties
Assisting with new client enquiries
Legal research
The candidate must be organised, reliable and punctual. The candidate will be expected to have excellent written communication skills, paying close attention to detail. We require a candidate who has the ability to commute to our East London office daily, unfortunately remote working will not be possible for this vacancy. Our East London branch is within walking distance of Upton Park station.

An interest in family law is desirable but experience is not essential. The desire to progress and take the imitative is paramount.
