Overview:

Penningtons Manches Cooper are looking for a paralegal to join the projects development and construction team in our London office and work alongside partners and associates who provide a comprehensive range of construction law solutions across the wide spectrum of projects undertaken in the construction industry. Clients include private and public institutions, property owners, developers, funders, contractors, specialist sub-contractors, suppliers and construction/design consultants. The ideal candidate will have previously worked in a London or regional construction team. They must also be a team player with excellent time management skills and a willingness to get jobs done on time and accurately.
Responsibilities:
Undertake research, business development and fee-earning work whilst providing a profitable contribution to the work of the department Track, monitor and report of project and scheme progress. Assist draft documents and general correspondence Carry out research and investigations using legal publications, case law etc. and preparing detailed reports from such findings Dealing with initial client care documentation and follow up Provide support to other members of the team as needed File management and administration Collating documentation and Operating DocuSign signing processes

The firm operates a hybrid agile working policy allowing employees to work from home (or another UK location) for at least 50% of their time. Individuals can also apply for other flexible working options either at the time of recruitment or during the course of their employment.
Essential & Desirable Criteria:
Degree or CILEX qualification Excellent oral and written communication skills IT literate, confident user of MS office Familiarity with Docusign Ability to manage a busy workload and be flexible so as to service demand well and promptly. Ability to work either alone or collaboratively with other team members Confidence in client facing meetings and communications Attention to accuracy and detail Collaborative team member with ability to quickly build relationships with a wide range of people Receptive to facilitate and support change Excellent organisational skills; Have a pragmatic, "can - do" attitude Ideally have a problem-solving approach Comfortable working under pressure with the ability to plan and prioritise work; Appreciation of fee earner needs and constraints; Commercially aware and/or have an interest in the sector
