About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a major logistics provider for experienced and safety-conscious engineers to join their parcel sortation and automation team at a key hub location. This is a long-term role ideal for candidates looking for a stable opportunity within a well-established operation.

The successful candidate will be part of an 8-person engineering team responsible for the ongoing maintenance and optimisation of high-speed parcel sortation systems and conveyor equipment, including Siemens PLC-controlled systems. You will ensure the efficient operation of automated machinery in a time-sensitive, high-throughput environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and fault-finding on automated sortation systems, conveyors, and associated machinery Work primarily during day shifts with occasional shift work; flexibility to work overtime may be required Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults efficiently to minimise system downtime Work closely with Siemens PLC-based control systems and support upgrades or modifications where needed Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with a team of 8 engineers to ensure seamless engineering coverage and support

Requirements

Strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering within an automation, logistics, or manufacturing environment

Electrical bias preferred

are also welcome Experience working with Siemens PLCs and automated control systems highly desirable Electrically safe and compliant with relevant industry regulations Confident in reading and interpreting technical schematics and manuals Proactive, team-oriented, and capable of working independently when needed Flexible and reliable approach to working hours and responsibilities
