Parish Nurse (Part Time)

St Peter's Church, Aylesbury

Salary

: 24,176 (pro rata 38,682.00) plus expenses

Hours

: 25hrs/wk (flexible working hours, usually Monday to Friday)

Contract

: Initially, a three-year fixed contract with a view to extend for a further 1-2 years, subject to funding

Location

: Based at St Peter's Church, Coventon Road, Aylesbury, Bucks. HP19 9ND, and working across the communities of Quarrendon, Meadowcroft, Haydon Hill and Buckingham Park. Some home working may be possible.

St Peter's Church, Aylesbury, would like to employ an NMC Registered Nurse, in a part-time salaried position to lead their new Parish Nursing Service. This innovative service is provided in partnership with Parish Nursing Ministries UK and aims to improve and maintain the holistic health and wellbeing of local people in the Quarrendon Parish.

The Parish Nurse role includes:

Acting as health navigator and resource for the community General health education, personal health screening, support and signposting Advocating for individuals and health more widely Liaising with other GPs, Community Nurses, Social Services, Safeguarding professionals, Social Prescribers, and other local services Supporting the health, safety and risk management of the church family and Pastoral Care team Providing physical and mental health support, alongside spiritual and pastoral care Supporting and resourcing the other wellbeing programmes of the church Supporting, equipping and enabling a 'Pastoral Care Team' Being a part of, and supported by the Church Operations / Ministry Team
Current registration with the NMC is essential and support for revalidation can be provided. The person will be required to undertake formal role preparation with Parish Nursing Ministries UK and the Church Ops Team, and to offer spiritual care and Christian prayer when requested (it is therefore a Genuine Occupational Requirement for the applicant to be a practicing Christian).
