Part-Time Assistant Accountant

Location: Wadebridge, Cornwall

Salary: 35,000 - 40,000 per annum (pro rata)

Working Pattern: Part-time (Core days: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, with potential for additional days)

A well-established and innovative business in the renewable energy sector is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Accountant to join their finance team based in Wadebridge, Cornwall. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to contribute to a forward-thinking organisation that is actively shaping the UK's sustainable energy future.

The Role

Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider accounts team, the successful candidate will support both day-to-day finance operations and more strategic financial activities. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who is comfortable managing everything from invoice entry and reconciliations to preparing budgets and assisting with audits.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and client reporting

Prepare year-end accounts for review

Complete daily bank postings and reconciliations

Process monthly wages and post relevant journals

Support quarterly VAT returns and annual budgets

Maintain accurate sales and purchase ledgers

Raise and issue sales invoices, manage project costing and purchase orders

Liaise with external auditors and assist with year-end audit preparation

Resolve discrepancies, manage client and supplier queries

Handle general administrative duties including office support, calls, post and travel bookings

Update timesheets and integrate into costing systems (Sage Line 50)

Help manage vehicle records (MOTs, insurance, repairs etc.)

Candidate Requirements

Qualified or Part-Qualified ACA / ACCA, or Fully Qualified AAT

Strong proficiency with Excel and Sage Line 50

Experience with audit processes and producing financial statements

Detail-oriented and able to work both independently and as part of a team

Comfortable handling multiple responsibilities and supporting a busy office environment

The Offer
