Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and food preparation, with a keen interest in contributing to a vibrant bakery environment. This role involves assisting in the production of high-quality baked goods while ensuring adherence to food safety standards. This position will require an early start from 5am on the required working days. Working days will include a Monday 5am-2pm, Wednesday 5am-2pm, Thursday 5am-2pm and Saturday 5am-8am.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and baking of various products, including bread, pastries, and cakes. Follow recipes and instructions accurately to ensure consistency in product quality. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and bakery area, adhering to food safety regulations. Support the head baker in daily operations, including inventory management and stock replenishment. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness. Assist with customer service when required, providing information about products and taking orders. Collaborate with team members to create a positive working environment.

Qualifications

Previous experience in food production or preparation is preferred. A background in culinary arts or baking is advantageous but not essential. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is important. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are required. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude are essential.
