Job Overview

We are seeking a Barista to join our small family business/team - the award winning Brewery Tearooms, in creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers. You will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages, ensuring high standards of customer service, and maintaining a clean and inviting cafe environment. Your role may also include other duties associated with the operation of the Tearooms.

Able to work Saturdays and a couple of other days during the week. It is a part time role.

Duties

Prepare and serve a range of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages according to established recipes and customer preferences. Operate the Aloha POS or Micros POS systems for order processing and payment transactions. Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe area, including food preparation stations and equipment. Follow food safety protocols and guidelines to ensure safe food handling practices are upheld at all times. Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies as needed and monitoring product freshness. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours while maintaining quality standards. Utilize basic math skills for cash handling, ensuring accurate transactions during the checkout process.

Requirements

Previous barista experience or coffee experience is highly desirable. Strong customer service skills with the ability to create positive interactions with guests. Familiarity with food preparation and food service practices in a cafe or retail environment. Proficient in time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods. Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Preferable to have knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is preferred.
