We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role is crucial for the smooth operation of our financial processes and will involve using various accounting software to manage transactions efficiently.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for the P&L being correct and up to date, providing the FD with a monthly set of reports, sending invoices and credit control. We use Xero so you must already be proficient with this system.
This is a part time role between 16-24 hours per week. Hours and days worked can be negotiated, ideally the work is carried out in our Bournemouth office, remote working is a possibility in the future.
What will your Role include?
Credit Control
Bank reconciliation
Liaising with other team members to ensure receipts are provided in a timely fashion
Ensuring suppliers have provided the correct documentation
Preparation of monthly supplier payments
What you are already good at:
You will be a team player who can work with people at all levels and in different work areas to support delivery of the finance function to the wider firm. You will have the following skills:
Excellent IT and Numeracy skills
Excellent communication skills, both over the phone and via email
An analytical mind with excellent attention to detail
High levels of integrity, openness and approachability
Experience
Proven experience in bookkeeping is essential.
Proficiency in working with Xero is a must
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles, including VAT knowledge.
