new part time book keeper

into our commercial team here at

Only With Love brewery

Founded in Lewes in 2020 (in lockdown #1 & #2), Only With Love is a different craft beer outfit. We're the wellbeing brewery, perfectly in step with today's mindful drinker. We serve togetherness on tap via our range of award-winning beers, sodas, and our Brewcafe at the Malling Community Centre in Lewes.

You'll probably be working from home most of the time - but very closely with the Managing Director and management team..

Responsibilities:



Financial Transaction Management:

Recording and maintaining all day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. This is the fundamental duty of the role.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

Managing money owed to suppliers and vendors (accounts payable) and money owed by customers (accounts receivable). This includes processing invoices, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts to ensure healthy cash flow.

Bank and Credit Card Reconciliation:

Regularly comparing and matching the company's financial records with bank statements and credit card statements to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies or errors.

General Ledger Maintenance:

Updating and maintaining the general ledger, which is the master record of all financial accounts. This involves categorizing transactions and ensuring proper debits and credits are posted.

Financial Reporting:

Help to prepare and generate accurate financial reports, such as management report, balance sheets, income statements (profit and loss statements), and cash flow statements, typically on a monthly basis.

VAT/Tax Returns:

Assisting with the preparation and filing of VAT and other tax digital returns via Quickbooks.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assisting the MD in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts by analyzing historical data and providing insights to management.

Requirements:



Analytical Skills:

The ability to identify and resolve discrepancies and analyze financial data.

Communication Skills:

The ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to colleagues and management.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency with spreadsheets and Quickbooks online.

Education/Experience:

While a degree may not always be required, a relevant qualification or a certain number of years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role is expected.

Experience in brwewery / hospitality trade welcomed, but not essential

Agile - ready to adapt, respond, innovate

Self sufficient and autonomous / problem solving

Brilliant attention to detail

Ability to work both within a team and solo as needed.
