Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Credit Controller to join our friendly credit control team at Ready Steady Store in the UK. In this pivotal role, you will manage credit control processes, ensuring timely payments and maintaining strong relationships with our clients. Your contributions will be vital to our financial health and operational success.
The main purpose of this role is to ensure customer payments are received from Day 7 onwards, while maintaining professional and positive relationships. You will be working primarily through an automated dialler system, handling customer queries related to payments, and completing related administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
Proactively contact customers from Day 7 onwards to recover outstanding debts
Use the automated dialler system to manage outbound and inbound payment-related calls
Manage the dedicated inbox, responding to payment queries and ensuring timely follow-up
Deal with customer payment queries promptly and professionally, providing accurate information and solutions
Negotiate payment plans in line with company policies and terms
Accurately update account notes and maintain customer records in line with GDPR requirements
Complete related administrative tasks, including processing correspondence, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports
Work closely with Operations and Customer Service teams to resolve payment disputes
Escalate accounts or issues where necessary to the Operational Management team
Work to and achieve debt collection targets
Identify opportunities to improve debt collection and administrative processes
Qualifications - Essentials
Minimum 2 years' experience in credit control and/or collections
Strong knowledge of debt collection procedures and customer account management
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong organisational and time-management abilities
Confident handling customer queries and resolving disputes
Proficient in data entry and administration with strong attention to detail
A team player with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Qualifications - Desirable
Experience using an automated dialler system
