We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting dentists and ensuring patients receive high-quality care in a welcoming environment. Duties
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring smooth operation of the treatment process
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilising instruments and setting up necessary equipment
Provide patient care before, during, and after procedures, including offering reassurance and post-treatment advice
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required, adhering to safety protocols
Maintain accurate patient records using IT systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations
Manage appointment scheduling and organise patient flow to optimise clinic efficiency
Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the clinical environment in accordance with health and safety standards
Support with administrative tasks such as stock control and ordering supplies
Communicate effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and answering queries with professionalism
Requirements
Proven experience in patient care within a healthcare or dental setting is desirable
Good command of English, both written and spoken, to communicate effectively with patients and team members
Basic knowledge of nursing principles relevant to dental care
Familiarity with IT systems used for record keeping and appointment management
Excellent communication skills to reassure patients and work collaboratively with colleagues
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
Ability to work as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative and independence when required
A recognised qualification in dental nursing or equivalent is preferred but not essential for internship positions
