About us
We are a small, well established, independent dental practice based in the community of Wem. Our team comprises of 3 dentists, 3 hygienists, a small team of dental nurses and reception/ administrative support.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting dentists during patient treatments, ensuring high standards of patient care, and maintaining efficient practice operations. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about healthcare and looking to develop their career within a friendly and professional environment.
We appreciate that work/life balance is important, and welcome applications from trainee and qualified dental nurses looking for part-time hours working within our established team. Hours are based on a rota system.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials prior to appointments
Provide patients with pre- and post-treatment instructions, ensuring they understand their care plans
Maintain strict infection control protocols and sterilise equipment in accordance with health and safety standards
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and updating patient records using IT systems
Offer compassionate patient care, addressing concerns and providing reassurance throughout treatments
Ensure the dental environment is clean, organised, and fully equipped for daily operations
Requirements
We are looking for a part-time GDC registered Dental Nurse or trainee to join our well-presented, private practice in Wem. This is a great opportunity to join our friendly team.
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
Good IT skills for maintaining accurate patient records and managing practice software programmes
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating professionalism and empathy at all times
Relevant qualifications and GDC certification in dental nursing
