Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Non HGV Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations. This role requires excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of vehicle mechanics to handle minor repairs and maintenance.

Duties

Operate various types of vehicles, including vans and flatbed lorries, for the delivery of goods. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working order and report any mechanical issues. Load and unload goods from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise. Adhere to all health and safety regulations while on the road and during loading/unloading activities. Provide excellent customer service by being courteous and professional at all times.

Experience

Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices is essential. Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for performing basic maintenance on vehicles. Experience in warehouse operations can be beneficial for understanding logistics processes. A valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type is required, along with a clean driving record.
