AirRide is a family-owned business and specialist in the motoring industry focussing on air-suspension products, kits, parts, professional fitting and product development.

We are currently looking to recruit a

Part-Time General Assistant.

This role will mainly involve working as a workshop assistant: sweeping, moving equipment around, grinding, blasting and powder coating, but will also include general cleaning tasks, as well as answering the phone when the Office Staff are unable to, packing orders, accepting deliveries and organising shipping for items from our mail order shop.

Whilst training on our products will be given, a good understanding and previous experience working in a similar environment would greatly assist the successful candidate but a natural enthusiasm and aptitude for vehicles, mechanical comprehension and adherence to health and safety guidelines is the most essential. There is also a potential for further training to become a Welder or an Installer - or both!

We primarily work with campers, vans, wheelchair access vehicles and motorhomes. We do sell and install air suspension for cars but these days we focus more on bigger vehicles and/or engineering air suspension solutions where there has previously been none.

The workshop side of the job involves heavy lifting and working in a noisy and dusty environment and will be the bulk of the job. The job is initially part-time, 2-3 days a week, and flexible but could lead to full time work subject to progress and the needs of the successful candidate. Pay rate will depend upon experience and productivity. We are very flexible to accommodate the successful applicants working hour needs, and hours can be by discussion. Training could potentially be done before Christmas, but the start date would be in January.
