Job Purpose

To launder and repair all linen and clothing to a high standard which reflects the company



To use and maintain all laundry equipment in a correct manner



To keep the laundry area in a clean, hygienic state, free from clutter at all times



To uphold residents' participation strategy



To treat colleagues with respect and ensure teamwork is good

Main Duties & Responsibilities

To uphold residents' rights to privacy, dignity and choice



To ensure all laundry is returned to use in a clean fresh state with repairs attended to



To ensure all particular laundry instructions are adhered to according to the type of fabric



To ensure all personal clothing is named and returned to owner in an acceptable state



To report to a superior immediately any damage occurs



To operate machinery in compliance with manufacturer's and company instructions



To make the most economical use of machines and chemicals according to instructions



To maintain equipment and tools in a safe working condition and report any fault or misuse immediately



To carry out routine general maintenance of equipment as stated in the procedure manual



To be responsible for stock control of materials used and be accountable for misappropriation



To keep the workplace clean and tidy and in a safe condition



To read and observe all notices displayed in the workplace



To become familiar with company and statutory policy and procedure regarding the workplace, health and hygiene, annual and sick leave, fire instructions and evacuation procedure



To wear a uniform as directed by the company



To wear protective clothing as necessary



To undertake any reasonable duties as directed by superiors to ensure the smooth, efficient running of the nursing home
