About The Dan Tien

The Dan Tien is a family run, non-profit performing arts school based in North Watford, Hertfordshire. Over 500 children and young people attend the studio each week to take classes in singing, dancing, acting and music. Established in 2009 we have built a solid reputation as one of the leading performing arts schools in the region with children travelling from far and wide to attend our popular classes.

Alongside our weekly training we also offer holiday workshops, examinations, performance opportunities and have several contracts within the community to deliver creative activities.

Violin Teacher (doubling instruments welcomed)

Reporting to:

Head of Music

Contract:

This is a permanent, part-time, freelance contract.

Fee:

Starting at 27.50 per hour, increasing dependent on experience.

Responsibilities

Planning and preparing lessons in relation to individual pupils' needs and examination syllabi Teaching lessons of a high standard Acquiring appropriate teaching materials Entering pupils into examinations Motivating pupils and encouraging progress Liaising with staff and parents about progress Attending concerts Keeping up to date records of attendance

Skills and Experience

A music qualification 2 years minimum teaching experience Knowledge of different examination boards A can do attitude and a willingness to muck in Excellent communication skills Enthusiasm for your instrument and for teaching children The ability to motivate others Commitment to the role You must have or be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
