We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner/ Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children and a desire to support their development in a nurturing environment. As a Nursery Practitioner Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating atmosphere for children, helping them to learn and grow through play and structured activities.
The role is based on part time / zero hours basis to provide additional support during busy sessions with a view to increasing hours in Spring and Summer Terms. Looking initially for additional support on Thursdays. Ideal for an exisitng local Nursery worker looking for additional hours or someone looking for a part time role
Must be either Level 3 qualified or a level 2 with several years experience
Responsibilities
Assist in the planning and implementation of daily activities that promote learning and development for children.
Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Support the lead nursery staff in managing the classroom environment, maintaining cleanliness, and organising resources.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster positive relationships.
Observe children's progress and report any concerns regarding their development or behaviour to senior staff.
Help with basic administrative tasks such as record keeping and maintaining attendance logs.
Drive children to local outings or events as required.
Skills
Proven experience in childcare or early childhood education is highly desirable.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage groups of children effectively.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being capable of taking initiative when necessary.
A genuine passion for nurturing children's growth and development through engaging activities.
Familiarity with nursery settings and understanding of child development principles.
A valid driving licence is an advantage for transporting children when needed.
